Abstract

The National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices (PNPIC) is being implemented in several municipalities in the country. The objective of this work was to research the population's conceptions in relation to PICs, in the Primary Health Care Network of Porto Alegre, rescuing popular knowledge. The method used was the conversation circle, with the District Health Counselors (CDS), based on the discourse of the collective subject. As a result, 145 key expressions were extracted, which were subdivided into central ideas (CIs). Afterwards, a classification of CIs with the same or complementary meaning was carried out in four groups, A, B, C and D, with 36 CIs in group A, 52 CIs in group B, 35 CIs in group C and 22 CIs in group D And finally, the creation of the CI of each of these groups, in order to describe the four Collective Subject Discourses of all participants in the
conversation circles. Thus, it was observed that the participation of the population is paramount in the implementation of the Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices, since they are therapeutic conducts based on experienced cultural practices, with resoluteness in the process of healing and rescue of the humanization of professional technical care scientific.
