Literature in promoting cultural identity and diversity

This article makes a theoretical approach to the role of literature in promoting cultural diversity and identity, as a form of cultural expression in societies. Currently, the debate around identities and the role of literature leads to greater development of cultural expression of a people, a culture and a society. With the article, we theoretically analyze the role of literature in the construction of identity and its expression in a world where cultural exchange is increasingly demanding in the context of the development of policies that allow intercultural communication. In this, identities come into play, that is, they are related, each one showing its reality. Literaries are apologists whose identities enter the ethno-cultural scene to express the autonomy of being in community and literature is one of the forms of expression, both nationally and transnationally. In this context for the development of the article, we proposed to resort to the inductive method, whose analyzes of cultural expression allowed analyzing in the global context and the use of construction/deconstruction is part of the techniques used, based on hermeneutics, based on the review documentary. Literature plays an undeniable role in the construction, formation, communication and development of identities, as well as in the promotion of cultural diversity.
