Construction and analysis of a robot for autonomous sumo competition 3Kg

Abstract

The more advanced robotic has been rising for the last decades, the more popular the robot competitions are becoming, which have improving as the studies in the área and the technological development in the academic field as the formation of human resources to deal with robotics. Among the different kinds of robot competition category, the one known as sumo like the human contest, the objective is pushing the opponent out of the dojo, where the fight happens. To analyze the performace of the sumo robot that was build it under this investigation and it was put to take part of a series of competitions. The combats of this robot were recorded and monitored to develop a method of examination, which was evaluated in this research and the data that showed the built robot emerging skills out needed to be improved and under what circunstances the failures were common. It was also analyzed the peculiar reasons and characteristics of some equipment added in the robot that promote its victory. The results of the study reveal that the structure and the sensor require enhancement and speed boost, so it will be necessary to change the robot engines or reconfigure their stages and the reduction of
them.
