About the Journal

The Electronic Journal of Exact and Technological Sciences (RECET) is a periodical of annual continuous flow publications from the Center for Exact and Technological Sciences (CETEC) of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) that aims to promote and socialize articles that present reviews and research results (original articles, reviews, conferences, scientific initiation), in the area of Exact and Technological Sciences.

Exact and Technological Sciences is undertood by, the interdisciplinary area related to the study of the phenomena related to the production, organization, diffusion and use of information and knowledge in the following fields of knowledge:

  • Mathematics;
  • Physics;
  • Statistics;
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry;
  • Civil Engineering;
  • Computer engineering;
  • Electrical engineering;
  • Mechanical Engineering;
  • Sanitary and Environmental engineering;
  • Teaching of Engineering;
  • Teaching of Exact Science.

GOALS

The publication of articles in scientific journals is essential for disseminating knowledge and promoting advancement in the areas of exact sciences and technology. In this sense, it is important to consider:

  • Promote scientific dissemination: The main objective of the magazine is to share relevant research and discoveries in the area. This includes work by experienced researchers as well as contributions from students and young scholars.
  • Stimulate academic production: The journal must encourage the production of original articles by researchers. This can be done through open calls for submissions, workshops and academic events.
  • Foster interdisciplinary dialogue: Valuing dialogue between different areas of knowledge is essential. The journal must make room for contributions not only from the exact sciences, but also from other disciplines that have relevant interfaces.
  • Integrate students and teachers: In addition to publishing work by researchers, the magazine must be an inclusive space for students and teachers from different institutions. This may involve the creation of advisory boards or the active participation of faculty from other universities.
  • Create visibility for research: The magazine must highlight research developed in academic groups and projects. This can be done through specific sections, interviews with researchers and dissemination on social networks and scientific events.

LANGUAGES

Publications must be presented as follows:

  • your entire text in Portuguese (Brazil) and a translation of the abstract in English or;
  • its entire text in English and a translation of the abstract in Portuguese (Brazil).

The Revista de Ciências Exatas e Tecnológicas publishes works related to thematic axes according to their sections.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Articles submitted to RECET are sent for double-blind evaluation by at least two reviewers, members of the Committee or Editorial Board, in addition to invited external consultants. The Magazine does not publish or reveal the names of the evaluators.

RECET maintains a policy of controlling/combating plagiarism. Before sending the submitted texts for evaluation, the editorial committee checks the submissions through some free plagiarism detection services (especially AntiPlagiarist and The Plagiarism Checker).

Throughout the evaluation process, authors can contact the editorial team to resolve any doubts that may arise about the evaluation process of their manuscripts.

ACCESS AND STORAGE POLICIES

Access is:

  • immediate free access to content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge;
  • It is free, with no subscription, processing or evaluation fees charged, and fees may be charged for grammatical review of the text and obtaining the DOI.

RECET does not accept:

  • the submission of a preprint (article that has not been peer-reviewed) that is already stored on another platform;
  • storage and access, in institutional/digital repositories;
    • the preprint version of the document submitted for evaluation;
    • post-print (version that has been evaluated, accepted by the journal and corrected or not by the author, but not yet published).

The storage and access, in institutional/digital repositories, of the published version that was made available on the RECET website is immediately permitted.

Based on what was established regarding permissions for document versions for storage and access in institutional/digital repositories, the seal assigned to us by Miguilim is White.

ARCHIVING

RECET uses LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) to create a file system distributed among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent magazine archives for preservation and restoration.

LOCKSS is free software developed by the Stanford University Library, which allows you to preserve chosen online magazines by scanning their pages for newly published content and archiving it. Each file is continually validated against copies from other libraries. If the content is corrupted or lost, copies are used for restoration.

The LOCKSS Program, based at Stanford Libraries, provides open source services and technologies for secure, high-trust, and resilient digital preservation.

Open Journal Systems is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to guarantee the secure and permanent preservation of articles published in RECET, ensuring the secure and permanent archiving of the journal cache.

** Articles that do not fit into one of the processes listed above may have their analysis, process or publication denied or excluded.

CODE OF ETHICS

RECET adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Newspaper Editors for several important reasons, including:

  1. Editorial Responsibility:
    • Electronic magazine editors are responsible for everything that is published in their journals. This includes meeting the needs of readers and authors, continually improving the journal, and ensuring the quality of published material.
    • COPE defends freedom of expression and the maintenance of academic records.
  2. Ethics and Integrity:
    • Publishers must avoid compromising intellectual and ethical standards for commercial reasons.
    • Additionally, they must be willing to correct errors, clarify information, and retract when necessary.
  3. Good habits:
    • In addition to the mandatory Code of Conduct, COPE offers Good Practice guidelines.
    • These guidelines are more desirable and address complex ethical issues.
    • Editors can use these suggestions to review and improve their editorial policies and practices.
  4. Research Involving Human Beings:
    • In Brazil, COPE recommends that electronic journals follow the guidelines of the National Research Ethics Commission (CONEP) for research with human beings.
    • Furthermore, the Declaration of Helsinki and the EQUATOR Network initiatives are also relevant for the construction of research reports.
