Ethnobotanical and ethnopharmacological investigations are essential for identifying the uses and therapeutic indications of plants. This study analyzed the traditional knowledge and use of Lippia alba (Mill.) N. E. Br. ex Britton & P. Wilson in the municipality of Cruz das Almas, Bahia, Brazil. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 23 informants, and the data were analyzed using quantitative measures. A total of 77 species distributed across 43 families were recorded, with Asteraceae and Lamiaceae exhibiting the highest diversity and equitability. The most represented ICD-11 chapters were “13 – Diseases of the digestive system” and “12 – Diseases of the respiratory system.” Lippia alba and Plectranthus ornatus showed the highest principal use agreement, while Bidens pilosa L., Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spr., Aloe vera (L.) Burm. f., and Lippia alba stood out for therapeutic versatility. Lippia alba was cited by 100% of informants, with the highest importance and consensus values, primarily as a sedative, associated with chapter “6 – Mental, behavioral, or neurodevelopmental disorders.” These findings indicate that Lippia alba is widely recognized and represents a key resource in traditional medicine in Cruz das Almas.
