The conjuction between phýsis and geometry on the genesis of science

This paper intends to show that, in spite of several observations of cosmos performed by distinct ancient people, science, as generalizing and theoretical discourse of nature, was born among the Milesians. The cause for this genesis is the conjunction between the Greek concept of phýsis, wich presupposes the search for a metaphysical order to submit the chaos, and the Greek geometry, a mathematical tool based on permanent generalizations. Under reduction and order, the generalizing and theoretical dicourse of the Milesian physicists originated one of the greatest human legacies: the scientific knowledge.
