Compassion and solidarity: a dialogue between Schopenhauer and Rorty

This paper aims to present the philosophical conceptions of compassion in Schopenhauer and of solidarity in Rorty. It is not intended to deepening any of the referred perspectives, whether metaphysical or neopragmatic, but only to showing briefly how they arrived to different positions by reflecting over a common theme.
