The “law of peoples”: an ideal of justice to be aspired to by all societies

The Law of Peoples ends Rawls’s justice reflection trilogy, presenting the idea that reasonable peoples can live together in a peaceful way in a fair world. Its main purpose is to study the possibilities of extending the concept of justice as fairness to an external level called Peoples’ Society. Designs ideals and principles for the external politics of reasonably fair peoples, establishing public international law program. This paper aims to present the importance of his theory for international society characterized by a pluralism of comprehensive doctrines and try to answer to the objecions supported by Rawls writings.
